If your a historian, you'll be especially interested in the history of Guinea, and even if you are not it is a great place to start your vacation. The first people to settle in the area now known as Guinea were the Susu. In 1849, the French took over the area and started colonizing Guinea by the 1890's. Guinea became an independent state on October 2, 1958. The president at that time was Sekou Toure.
Current Event: Last week, an assassination was attempted on Dadis Camara, the military government captain.Even though this might make Guinea sound dangerous, it is actually a great opportunity for a vacationer who wants an adventure.The attempt on his life was because he challenged Rio Monte, which controls the bauxite mines in Guinea. He wanted to protect the people of Guinea. And, you, a vacationer to Guinea, can help change the fate of the whole country.Will the French (the owners of Rio Monte) succeed and taking out the leaders of Guinea who actually care about the people of guinea? Well, it’s your decision. What will happen?
